Bottom Slitter

At Carolina Knife Company, we carry a wide variety of bottom slitters for converting machines, including carbide-tipped blades, multi-grooved blades and our own patented split-bottom blade. Our American-made carbide-tipped slitters, created for use in the film, foil, and paper-converting industries, are designed for maximum precision and durability. The extremely fine-grained carbide results in a much longer life for the blade--up to 10 times as long, between sharpenings, as compared to steel slitters.

Our carbide-tipped bottom knife selection includes replacement knives for E.C.H. Will, Valmet, Black Clawson, Atlas, Cameron, Beloit, Dusenbury, Jagenberg, Wartsila, Bielomatik, and other machines. Meanwhile, our multi-edge bottom slitters can be used in Kampf, Lenox, Erwepa, Jagenberg, Paper Converting Machine, Schmutz, and Valmet/Wartsila, among others. Our multi-edge models are through-hardened for longer life, have roundness to within .0004, and can be ordered in either 52100 or D2 steel.

At Carolina Knife Company, we've also developed a unique split-bottom slitter. In addition to its high degree of safety--it exceeds American National Standards Institute balance standards by a full 75 percent--the split-bottom slitter has several other important benefits, such as a low connection-failure rate. It also reduces the amount of residual dust produced in the cutting process. Made from powerful D2 or 51200 steel, the blade on the slitter is able to withstand frequent, demanding use on tough projects, without degrading or becoming damaged.
