Manufacturing and sharpening slitter blades and knives is a major part of our business, however we also manufacture and supply a wide range of knife accessories to compliment our blade selection. Blades by Shape
The industrial conversion and cutting blades we manufacture can be classified into two shape categories: circular and straight. Our straight blade category contains traditional straight blades such as guillotines and shear blades as well as other non-circular shapes such as mill knives, granulators, pelletizes and much more. Blades by Cut Type
The industrial cutting methods used in manufacturing can be categorized by the process by which the blade or blades cuts through the material being converted or processes. At Carolina Knife Co. we specialized in creating blades for the above conversion and cutting processes, which we refer to as cut types:
Circular Blades by Cut Position
Our industrial circular blades can also be described by their cutting position. The number of knife blades used and their cut position depends on the cut type or process being deployed. In shear slitting there are two slitter blades, referred to as the top and bottom slitter blades. These can conversely be described as male or female blades, respectively. In score and burst slitting applications there is typically only one blade, typically described as the top blade.
