Ultrasonic Knives

Ultrasonic Knives

Ultrasonic knives have become a boon to the textile and food service industries in recent years. While their extreme precision and low-dust factor continue to make them ideal for surgical procedures, ultrasonic knives are increasingly being used to cut corduroys and Napoleons in high volume. Carolina Knife Co. manufactures a number of custom and specialty knives, including ultrasonic horns and blades.

Food preparers have been experimenting with ultrasonic knives since the 1970s, but we have seen the demand for them expand exponentially over the last decade. The system uses an ultrasonic generator that sends sound vibrations to the knife at a range beyond human hearing, above 20 KHz. The high precision of the ultrasonic knives manufactured by Carolina Knife Co. makes clean cuts with little waste through such delicate materials as cakes, gelatins and fine cheeses.

Sharpening Your Ultrasonic Knives

At Carolina Knife Co., we pride ourselves on our sharpening services for all types of industrial knives, including ultrasonic. We don't consider knife sharpening a sideline industry, but rather our specialty. Our standard turnaround time is two to five business days, but because we do all of our work here in our U.S. facilities, we can also offer one-day emergency sharpening to get your business back up and running as soon as possible.

Because of our specialization in sharpening, we can handle maintenance for a range of specialty knives, including hot cut, carbide and ultrasonic blades. Once your blades arrive at our facility, they are fully inspected, entered into our database, and then cleaned, sorted and precision ground to restore edge quality. After being coated in cushioning compound, they are returned to you in like-new condition.
